Granny On On was born around 2010. It is said that many years ago, her previous owner abandoned her in public housing, leaving her to become a homeless stray dog. Fortunately, kind-hearted villagers nearby fed her. At over 10 years old, Granny On On felt even more lonely after the loss of her longtime companion, and she spent her days feeling gloomy.
One night, villagers heard Granny On On crying in distress and suspected she had been hit by a car, so they urgently sought help from the shelter. We subsequently took her to the hospital, where the doctor diagnosed her with several external injuries, worn and inflamed front teeth, swelling in her abdomen and tail, confirmed heartworm, elevated liver enzymes, and anemia (a blood sample was immediately sent to City University for further testing).
Because Granny On On is elderly, treating her heartworm will take quite a long time. Therefore, we decided to let her live at the shelter for her remaining years, allowing her to enjoy her twilight years in peace.
